Do you have another branch?Currently we only have one physical office in Midrand. We do travel out to hold our courses in other cities and country but we do not have a physical office there. If you wish us to come to your city or country kindly contact us
Are your Courses Accredited?All our beauty therapy, hairdressing and aesthetic courses are accredited. However we have broken some courses down into individual modules and hence most individual modular courses are not accredited e.g wig making. For all our accredited courses kindly contact us. Do you only offer physical courses?No we do not offer only physical courses. We offer both physical and online courses. Most online courses require a virtual class not preloaded videos. Kindly contact us if you wish to study online and we will be glad to walk you through. Meanwhile you can check our E-learning page; what you seek might be there.
Can I book courses on the weekend/last minute courses?To book a course outside of office hours, please leave a message on our contact form or send us whatsapp on 0784118827 clearly giving your name, telephone number and the course/training you wish to book. One of our team will call you back within 24 hours to arrange payment.
Can I cancel or transfer my course?All course fees / registration are non-refundable and non-transferable. In the event of a genuine reason for non-attendance or cancellation (proof of which may be required), a request for transfer may be considered at the discretion of The Institute. A transfer fee of R300 per training date will apply to reschedule or a medical certificate (for the named student only) will be required to waiver this fee. Should you be unable to attend, please notify us in writing within 72 hours of the booked training course. Failing to notify us with a minimum of 72 hours’ notice, may result in forfeit of all course fees paid.
What if I have difficulties finding the training centre on the day?Should you be having difficulties in finding the training center, please refer to google map or call us to send you directions to our training center. If you are going to run late for your training, please ensure you contact us before 10.00am. Outside of these times, please leave a voicemail message clearly giving your name and telephone number and one of our team will come back to you within 24 hours.
What happens if IHB Institute cancels my course?In the event that the Institute need to cancel your course for reasons beyond of our control, i.e. insufficient numbers of students or any other reasons beyond our control; The Institute will endeavour to give students at least 24 hours’ notice of any cancellation by telephone and/or email. The Institute is not responsible for any accommodation/travelling costs students may incur due to the cancellation of courses..
What if I have Special Training Needs / Requirements?Where possible we seek to include students with special requirements within our main course delivery. However for some students this may not be possible. Many students with special training needs prefer and gain the most benefit from tailored training on a one to one basis. Feasibility depends upon the course you are wishing to study; however where possible adjustments or special arrangements will be considered. Please note an additional cost may apply for training on a one to one basis. This can only be offered where discussed prior to booking your course, as we may need to make adjustments to the training day or special arrangements at the centre to support you for which we may require advance notice. All courses are taught in English & given the fast track nature of our courses, students will require a good command of spoken and written English language in order to achieve and demonstrate the course requirements. We can accomodate students who cant speak or write english on one to one training at an additional cost if deemed required. Please discuss this with the Advisor before booking as refunds cannot be given where a student is unable to participate within the training day(s) due to reasons not disclosed at the time of booking
Why are the courses so much shorter than at colleges of further education? ?We provide short, intensive training courses. We work with very small numbers in each training group to provide a more student focused learning environment. We work with very experienced tutors with vast personal knowledge of working within the industry. We work only from our own training centres which are purposely set up to deliver a high standard of training. Our courses offer a flexible route to study, to achieve your career goals and our dedicated Support Team offer assistance by email or telephone, even beyond your training days. Each training day begins with a short introduction on health and safety with the remainder of the day focused on hands on practice and acquiring of the skills to deliver treatments. You will receive practical training course notes following your confirmation email, which you are welcome to print and take along to the training to make personal notes (if required) or use at home to refresh your knowledge after your training days
What are the Course times?You should arrive for 9.45am to start at 10.00am and will finish at approximately 2.00pm with a short break for lunch.
What do I need to take with me on my Course?For hygiene purposes, please bring along one clean hand towel and one clean bath towel for your personal use during the course. Should you forget your towels, they will be available to purchase at the Academy for R80 / R120 respectfully. You will also be required to take your lunch with you (no hot food), tea and coffee is available free of charge.
What should i wear on my training day?You should ideally wear a professional beauty tunic. Otherwise smart-casual, clean clothing should be worn. You should wear flat shoes with covered toes/heels. Please ensure you are suitably dressed to give and receive treatments.
